Shooting on film in Italy, '26
03 Mar 2026I had been planning to do a little Italian coast to coast road trip for a long time. Four years ago I bought a paper map of the Emilia-Romagna region and surrounds and started planning a big trip.
In January we were feeling like we needed a break so we got some flights booked and went exploring.
We landed in Pisa at breakfast time, picked up our rental Fiat and headed to the beach for an espresso and croissant. Over the following days we had time in Pisa, Florence, Bologna, Imola, Venice.
Victor took about five hundred pictures on the Fujifilm camera while I pretty much stuck to 35mm. I’m using the Nikon F601 with the 75-300mm lens you see on the gear page and everything was developed by The Film Safe.
Here are some of my favourites of the film shots.

Imola castle.
